AgriNatur AT-HU

Welcome to our website!

As a result of the steady population growth in the Vienna-Győr region, the pressure on agricultural land through development and intensive farming is increasing, as in many places. This is accompanied by a loss of biodiversity, which in turn impairs the stability of agricultural ecosystems and adjacent nature reserves.

The project investigates the impacts of organic agriculture on species protection and biodiversity. In monitoring activities, the biodiversity of different groups of organisms on arable land is surveyed and evaluated. These data will flow into a series of expert workshops in which, together with the project partners, an AgriNature strategy will be developed to promote synergies between nature conservation and organic agriculture.

To raise awareness for the importance of biodiversity in agriculture, educational trails and visitor areas will be established in Austria and Hungary.
