E-mobility and innovation day in Mattersburg

19-03-2022

The Smart Region Kogelberg invited to the e-mobility and innovation day at the Mattersburg event location. In addition to e-cars and e-bikes, the e-cargo bikes from the "KlimaEntLaster" campaign in particular attracted curious looks.

On the way to the declared goal of climate neutrality and energy self-sufficiency, emission-free and thus climate-friendly mobility is the way to go. Mayor Claudia Schlager referred to the pioneering role of the city of Mattersburg in terms of climate-friendly mobility: "Thanks to the train, Mattersburg - and thus also the Smart Region Kogelberg - is ideally connected to other regional centers. With the electric city bus MABU, the municipality also offers a flagship project that enables climate-friendly mobility within Mattersburg. Another innovative project in this area are the e-cargo bikes from KlimaEntLaster, which can be borrowed free of charge.” At the stand of the Burgenland Mobility Center the KlimaEntLaster bikes were tested by numerous visitors in the course of the event.

Among them was Transport Provincial Councilor Heinrich Dorner, who once again revealed himself to be a committed cyclist: “Many everyday routes are shorter than 5 kilometers and therefore ideally suited to be covered by bike. Every kilometer not only means savings in emissions and fuel costs; Switching to a bike also works wonders for your health!”

In addition to various providers of mobility solutions, the organizers from the Smart Region Kogelberg and mobility experts of the Burgenland Mobility Center were also available to the interested public on site.
