Kick-Off event of Low Carb Mobility in Sopron
Kick-off for new Interreg AT-HU project to improve the multimodal networking of transport modes in the project area Burgenland-West Hungary.
The reconstruction projects at the Wulkaprodersdorf and Fertőszentmiklós stations serve as exemplary public transport projects with regard to the establishment of multimodal hubs. Fertőszentmiklós station is being developed into a cross-border intermodal regional transport hub for rail, bus, car and bicycle, and the conversion - like Wulkaprodersdorf - is providing findings for other stations in the region as a pilot project.
Furthermore, the project is working on generating knowledge with regard to alternative drives in public transport. In the course of studies, the operational feasibility and a catalog of requirements for the energy industry are being ascertained, which will be practically implemented in cross-border public transport.
